All Pakistan cricket begins in Quetta
QUETTA: All Pakistan T-20 Cricket Cup Quetta 2014, being played under the auspices of the Frontier Corps Balochistan, was inaugurated here on Monday by Governor Balochistan, Muhammad Khan Achakzai.
Balochistan Chief Minister, Dr. Abdul Malik Baloch, Commander Southern Command, Lt. Gen. Nasir Khan Janjua, Home Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti, Provincial Sports Minister, Mir Mujibur Rehman and other senior civil and military officials attended the inaugural ceremony.
Addressing the ceremony, Governor Balochistan said that the province has been experiencing a major change and a new era is beginning. “The day is not far when the youth of Balochistan would also become part of the national cricket team,” he said.
The first match of the All Pakistan Cricket Cup Quetta was played between Governor Eleven and Chief Minister Eleven which was won by CM XI by seven wickets.
About 40,000 spectators were present at the inaugural ceremony held at the impressive Bugti Stadium, Quetta. Cricket teams from various cities and clubs in the country are participating in the event.
