Qadri asks supporters to be ready for final call

LAHORE: Pakistan Awami Tehreek chief Dr Tahirul Qadri asks his followers to be ready for his final call for a revolution which, he says, may be made on time.

At a press conference here on Thursday, he said the constitutional and democratic mass revolution was the only path that could purge the country of terrorism and convert it into a land of peace and prosperity. Condemning a militant group for declaring caliphate in Iraq and Syria, he warned the rulers that any effort to counter the mass revolution he was leading could also lead to such a declaration by militants in Pakistan.

Responding to a query about the tsunami march of the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf on Islamabad on Aug 14, he said he could not yet understand the aim of tsunami but what he learnt was that Imran Khan desired some electoral reforms. However, he warned the PTI leader that the Sharifs had so much wealth that they could buy loyalties of the Election Commission at least five times.

Referring to the one-judge commission probing the Model Town incident, he said the registrar of the tribunal had been replaced and now it was a turn of the tribunal chairman. He reiterated his demand that the PAT would cooperate with the tribunal only if an FIR of the incident was registered on the complaint of the Minhajul Quran.
