MQM alleges Rangers continue raids, arrests of party workers
KARACHI: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) coordination committee on Saturday alleged that Rangers personnel have resumed unjustifiable arrests of its party members, DawnNews reported.
The committee protested the arrests of eight MQM workers, calling the move unjustified. It also raised objections to raids being conducted against its party members.
The committee put forth its demand that safety of the arrested party workers lives should be ensured.

MQM party chief Altaf Hussain had earlier decided to write an open letter to Chief of the Army Staff Gen Raheel Sharif about “extrajudicial killings of Urdu-speaking innocent workers of the MQM by Rangers, their arrests and torture” during the Karachi operation.
An MQM source had informed that Hussain let go of the idea of writing the letter on assurances extended by the Karachi corps commander revealing “formation of an investigation committee and that action would be taken against any officer of the paramilitary Rangers found involved in any illegal act.”
