Dolphin rescued near Larkana
LARKANA: Some villagers rescued a blind Indus Dolphin from the Warah canal and handed it over to wildlife officials on Wednesday.
Local people spotted the dolphin jumping in the deep canal near Ali Muhammed Pahore village, some 50 kilometres from here. Some people suspecting it to be a dangerous water animal fired shots at it, but it was saved, sources said.
Later, Zulfiqar Pahore, a resident of the village, recognised it as a blind Indus Dolphin and rescued it. It was shifted to a nearby fish pond and wildlife officials in Sukkur were informed about it.
Imran, an official of the wildlife department in Sukkur, came to the village and got custody of the dolphin. The dolphin would be released back into the Indus.
