A.R. Rahman and spirituality
Oscar-winning music genius A.R. Rahman is a very spiritual person. He is a devotee of the Sufi saint Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti and often visits his shrine, especially in the holy month of Ramazan.
Being a well-known person, he can’t afford to go to shrines just like that. So last Friday, to offer fateha at the mazaar and to say prayers he came to Ajmer by road in a rather furtive manner, making sure that not many people knew about it. He said his prayers and immediately left the dargah.
Come to think of it, he could have done that without being secretive about it. After all, it’s a shrine.
