RAWALPINDI: BISE seeks land for office building

RAWALPINDI, July 19: The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE), Rawalpindi, has requested the district government to provide it land for construction of the board’s office building.

This was stated by the BISE chairman, Dr Aziz Ahmad Hashmi, at a function organized to award prizes and medals to those students who achieved positions in the previous matriculation examination.

Talking to reporters, he said the board had the requisite resources, but non-availability of land was the main hurdle in the construction of its own office building.

The board, he said, had about 42 kanals located near the Attock Refinery Limited (ARL). But, the ARL has not been allowing it to carry out any construction there. Its case is in the court.

It is to recall that at present the board is functioning in six offices located in six different places. As a result, the board has been facing administrative problems. It also affects/ slows down the board’s works. Similarly, the candidates who visit the board office for different works also pass through trial situation.

Earlier, the Tehsil speaker, Sajjad Khan, distributed prizes and awards among position-holders.
