Girls shine in Abbottabad board HSSC exams

ABBOTTABAD: Students of the Peace Group of Colleges grabbed two of the three top positions in the Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) annual examinations 2014 held under the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE), Abbottabad.

Controller of examinations announced the results at the BISE Auditorium here on Thursday. A total of 34,126 students appeared in the examinations of which 16,421 were declared successful with the overall pass percentage of 48.12.

Nadia Amin of Peace Group of Colleges (PGC), Abbottabad, with 996 marks secured the overall first position, Omaima Nazar of Hazara Public College, Haripur, stood second with 995 marks and Nabeel Ahmed Khan Jadoon of PGC with 987 marks got third position.

In the FSc pre-engineering group (girls) Maryam Tariq Javed of Punjab College, Haripur, got first position by securing 971 marks; Aymen Khalid Abbasi of PGC second with 968 marks and Sanam Ijaz of Punjab College, Haripur, third position with 955 marks.

In the FSc pre-engineering group (boys), Nabeel Ahmed got the first position, followed by Sardar Usman Saleem of Abbottabad Public School and College who got 984 marks and Obaidullah Khan of PGC who secured third spot with 982 marks.

In the FSc pre-medical group (girls), Nadia Amin secured first position with 996 marks, Omaima Nazar second with 995 marks and Yusra Rehman of Jinnah Jamia, Haripur, got 986 marks to settle for the third potion.

In the pre-medical group (boys), Mansoor Ali Khan of APS, Abbottabad, got first position with 978 marks, Bashir of Pakistan International Public School and College, Abbottabad, second with 970 marks and Mohammad Shoaib Arshad of APS got third position with 967 marks.

In Computer Science (girls), Omaima Siddique of Pakistan International College grabbed first position with 942, and Hira Rana and Syeda Maleeka Hussain of Khyber Public School and College, Mansehra, with 938 and 934 marks got second and third positions, respectively.

In Computer Science (boys), Atif Liaquat of Punjab College, Haripur, stood first with 891 marks, Qasim Khan of Jinnah Jamia, Haripur, second with 889 marks and Abdullah Razzaki of Iqra Academy, Abbottabad, secured third position with 875 marks.
