Passenger train narrowly escapes bomb explosion in Quetta
QUETTA: A passenger train narrowly escaped a bomb explosion in Quetta on Monday night, police said.
Superintendent of Police Imran Qureshi told Dawn.com that the bomb went off in Mosa Colony, damaging the railway track prior to the arrival of Quetta Express.
Qureshi said that two persons were injured in the blast, who were rushed to an hospital for medical treatment.
The passenger train was stopped outside the city in the aftermath of the powerful blast that rocked the provincial capital.
"Had the bomb targeted the train there would have been human losses," Qureshi said.
Police and personnel of Frontier Corps reached the spot and started investigation into the incident.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility. However, police suspect Baloch separatists to be behind the incident.
