Hotel staff arrested for ‘beating up’ tourists in Murree

MURREE: Police have arrested eight staffers of a restaurant for allegedly beating up tourists as well as mediapersons and damaging a digital satellite news gathering (DSNG) van of a private TV channel.

The restaurant located on the Mall was also sealed.

The hotel staff beat up a family over the issue of prices of food items.

A reporter and cameraman of a private TV channel, who were covering the influx of tourists to the hill station, immediately turned their camera towards the hotel and started recording the fight.

This perturbed the hotel employees who asked the media team to stop covering the clash.

However the mediapersons continued with their coverage which infuriated the hotel staff who also beat up the mediapersons and damaged their van.

A police team reached the spot and arrested the waiters. However the hotel owners managed to escape.
