PTI ‘denied’ train bookings
LAHORE: The Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf's Lahore chapter has alleged the Pakistan Railways has denied bookings to those aspiring to participate in its 'Azadi March' on Aug 14.
Talking to Dawn, PTI Lahore information secretary Farrukh Javed Moon said the PML-N had gone panicky and the
so-called 'champions of democracy' were trying to deny people their right to protest against 'injustices'.
He said the PTI workers had applied for the booking of a special train from Karachi to Lahore prior to the Azadi March but the request was turned down by the railways headquarters in Lahore.
Mr Moon said the PTI workers had also approached the railways for booking of a number of seats for August 14 but they were denied the facility. He said the PR was entertaining bookings by individuals only.
On the one hand, he said, the PML-N government was saying it was not afraid of Azadi March but on the other it was planning everything to stop it.
A PR spokesman said bookings were being refused primarily due to security reasons as railways was not in a position to provide special security to the train.\
