Imran, Qadri out to derail democracy: PML-N

MINGORA: PML-N senior vice president and adviser to the prime minister Ameer Muqam on Monday said PTI chief Imran Khan and PAT leader Tahirul Qadri wanted to derail the country’s democratic system by agitation but the people would foil their plans.Addressing an Independence Day rally at Nisht Chowk in Mingora city, Muqam said the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had given PTI the mandate to change the existing system of governance but the party failed to do so.

“Imran Khan and Tahirul Qadri want to derail democracy by toppling the federal government elected by the people. But I want to make it very clear that the people will not let anyone do so as they support the elected government,” he said.

The PML-N leader said his party’s government in the centre would stay put even after August 14.

He said Imran Khan’s demand for recount of votes in the four National Assembly constituencies was not related to the government.

Muqam said if the Election Commission ordered elections on 50 constituencies, the federal government would accept it.
