Politics of PTI about to end: Fazl

CHAKDARA: Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has said the politics of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) is about to end as people have realised that a sit-in without any agenda is beyond apprehension.

Talking to journalists in Lower Dir here, he said that Imran Khan was befooling the people by staging protest march that had no logic or grounds as the issues he was playing up was of no significance and could be addressed at appropriate forum that was parliament.

Mr Rehman said that it was ironic that the leaders of PTI, which was in power in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, left behind hundreds of thousands of internally displaced persons and people affected by rainstorm and marched to Islamabad to achieve their personal goals. “The real face of PTI has now exposed to the people,” he added. The JUI-F chief said that PTI failed to utilise 69 per cent of the provincial budget for the welfare of the people, who voted for it in the name of change.

Mr Rehman said that the sit-in in Islamabad could pose no threat to the federal government. Rather PTI itself would become victim of its negative politics, he added. He said that the leaders of the protesters claimed to gather one million people for the march but they failed to gather even 20,000 people.

The JUI-F chief said that any conspiracy against the elected government would be foiled with full force. He said that no one would be allowed to derail democracy in the country at any cost.

Mr Rehman also condemned Israel for committing atrocities against the innocent people of Palestine. He called for convening a meeting of the Organisation of Islamic Conference at the earliest to address the issue.
