PTI failed to keep election promises: ANP

MARDAN/BANNU: Awami National Party, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa president Ameer Haider Khan Hoti on Saturday said the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf wanted to send its government in the province packing over failure to fulfil pre-election promises in the province.Addressing a function of ANP leaders and workers here, Hoti said the opposition parties had tabled the no-confidence motion against the chief minister to prevent the dissolution of the assembly.

He said both PTI chief Imran Khan and PAT leader Tahirul Qadri had miserably failed to take a large number of the people against the government after making tall claims about it.

“The PTI and PAT agenda stands exposed, so the people have been criticising them,” he said.

The ANP leader said the PTI and PAT sit-ins in the capital city had stressed out the local residents.

Hoti says people have rejected attempt to change PM by sit-ins

He said the people had rejected the PTI chief’s call for civil disobedience movement and that they didn’t support the change of an elected prime minister through demonstrations and sit-ins.

Hoti said his party would offer strong resistance if any ‘third force’ tried to derail democracy. He asked Imran Khan and Tahirul Qadri to act according to the Constitution.

The ANP leader said only his party could resolve the people’s problems, especially those living in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He said his party was regaining popularity as leaders and activists of other political parties were joining it in large numbers.

On other occasion, many PTI, PPP and JUI-F activists announced the joining of the ANP.

IMRAN, QADRI WANT TO HARM DEMOCRACY: ANP general secretary Mian Iftikhar Hussain on Saturday said PTI chief Imran Khan and PAT leader Tahirul Qadri were bent on harming democracy in the country by using unconstitutional ways for the prime minister’s resignation.

He was speaking during different functions of the internally displaced persons from North Waziristan in Shahbaz Azmatkhel village here.

Iftikhar said the PTI and PAT agitation had brought the country on the verge of collapse.

He said Imran and Qadri wanted to derail democracy in the country by staging sit-ins outside parliament.

The ANP leader said the PTI and PAT leaders wanted to grab power by illegal means but didn’t want to work for the welfare of the tribesmen, who had left their homes for the country’s interests.

He criticised the PTI chief for using foul language against an elected prime minister in public meetings and said the PTI leaders and workers were new to politics.

Iftikhar said PTI sit-in outside parliament where 6,000 people were in attendance was a failure and went against the sanctity of the elected house.

He said the PTI government in the province had ignored IDPs of North Waziristan Agency, who had left their homes for peace and security of the country.

The ANP leader said instead of assuaging the misery of IDPs, the chief minister and his cabinet members had gone to Islamabad to participate in a useless, illegal and unconstitutional exercise to come to power.
