Protest ends in Gilgit

GILGIT: Majlis-i-Wahdatul Muslimeen (MWM), Pakistan Muslim League-Q and Sunni Ittehad Council on Sunday ended their six-day-long protest sit-in staged on the Karakoram Highway to show solidarity with the participants of the ‘Inqilab March’ and ‘Azadi March’ in Islamabad.

The road remained blocked during the time of the protest, suspending traffic between Gilgit-Baltistan and rest of the country.

Addressing a press conference on Saturday evening, PML-Q GB president and parliamentary leader in the Gilgit-Baltistan Legislative Assembly Mirza Hussain said that the protest was ended keeping in view the problems faced by commuters.
