PML-N, JUI-F to come out against PTI today

RAWALPINDI: Terming PTI’s sit-in at D-Chowk a “centre of vulgarity”, the seminaries of Deoband school of thought that are politically affiliated with JUI-F will bring out their rally on Monday from Liaquat Bagh to Faizabad.

At the same time, PML-N is also planning to bring a rally from Pirwadhai to Zero Point via Faizabad.

Apparently, both parties have arranged separate rallies, but will end up at Faizabad at the same time.

“We will hold a rally against PTI sit-in, where boys and girls dance,” said Maulana Ashraf Ali of Taleemul Quran, one of the seminaries that have been asked to join JUI-F rally.

He said the JUI-F was in favour of democracy and supremacy of Parliament. But he clarified that JUI-F rally would be separate from the PML-N rallies.

PML-N local president Sardar Naseem told Dawn that the ruling party would bring a rally from Faizabad to Zero Point to support the prime minister, the democracy and the Parliament.

“PML-N workers will show their street power and the rally of the garrison city will be bigger than the combined PAT and PTI sit-ins,” he claimed.

Meanwhile, District Coordination Officer Sajid Zafar Dall said that PML-N and JUI-F had not applied for a permission for their rallies.

He said that there was no Section 144 in the city, so the rallies will not violate the law.

However, he said that the local police had been informed and it would take preventive measures during the rallies.
