PTI’s multiple sit-ins in city

LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) supporters have stepped up their protests in Lahore - to compensate their absence in Islamabad sit-in - and found Liberty Roundabout a new avenue to hold a sit-in every day.

They have already been holding a sit-in at Lalik Chowk for the past one week against alleged rigging in the 2013 general elections.

A large number of PTI supporters as well as party workers, including representatives of the Insaf Youth Wing, the Insaf Students' Federation and the PTI Women Wing, are participating in the sit-in.

Participants passionately fluttered party flags and chanted slogans as party chief Imran Khan's speech was played live at a mega screen installed at the Liberty Roundabout on Monday.

PTI leaders, including Hamid Khan, Waleed Iqbal and Jamshed Cheema, addressed the rally and demanded that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif resign.

Insaf Youth Wing representative Adil Jutt told Dawn the number of protesters was increasing at the Liberty Roundabout. "Those, who couldn't go to Islamabad, have got a good opportunity to become part of Imran Khan's Azadi march in Lahore."
