Javed Hashmi admitted to Pims

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) President Makhdoom Javed Hashmi was admitted to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims) on Monday.

Pims spokesman Dr Waseem Khawaja said Mr Hashmi had complaints of sore throat and fever.

“Mr Hashmi was dehydrated, weak and his throat was infected. Chest X-rays were conducted and blood samples were sent to the laboratory for further check,” he said.

“Electrocardiogram (ECG) was also performed by the doctors, but no heart problem was observed. Mr Hashmi has been advised to take complete rest. However he is out of danger,” Dr Khawaja said.

It is pertinent to mention that Mr Hashmi has been busy because of the PTI protest, which is going on since August 14.

While in Pims, Mr Hashmi said that he has always struggled against martial law and it will not be beneficial for the country. He said that PTI’s demands were genuine and they will be accepted by the government very soon.

He said that people are facing problems in the federal capital because of the government’s policies.

A number of party workers visited Mr Hashmi in the hospital. Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan sent a bouquet to Mr Hashmi.
