Rain disrupts PML-N rally in Multan
MULTAN: The rain on Wednesday disrupted a PML-N rally being staged in favor of the government and against the PTI’s sit-in seeking resignation of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
The arrangements for the rally were being made for the last couple of days and a large number of PML-N supporters had reached Multan from various parts of the district. They arrived at Chowk Clock Tower on buses, tractor-trolleys, vans and bikes.
The rally, led by Tehmina Daultana, Saeed Manees and MNA Javed Ali Shah, was about to reach Chowk Kutchery when a heavy rain came down forcing participants to look for the shelter.
Later, they gathered under the Kutchery Flyover where leaders delivered speeches and participants chanted slogans in favor of democracy, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif.
Tehmina Daultana said a conspiracy was being hatched by the opportunists to derail the democratic system.
She said unconstitutional demands of the PTI and PAT were not acceptable and the government would complete its tenure.
Saeed Manees said campaigns had been launched against the democratic government and resignation was being demanded from the elected prime minister.
He said the peaceful environment of the country was being disturbed by unconstitutional demands.
Javed Ali Shah said political forces were united for the protection of democracy, claiming that people rejected the civil disobedience call of the PTI chief.
He said the parliament and democracy would not be allowed to be sacrificed at the will of a few hundred people.

SAHIWAL: A large number of activists of the PML-N organised an “Istehkam-i-Pakistan” rally here on Wednesday.
The rally, led by Punjab Minister for Zakat and Ushr Malik Nadeem Kamran, started from Mazdoor Puli and ended at Jogi Chowk after passing through Pakpattan Bazaar, Saddar Bazaar, Liaquat Chowk and High Street.
Carrying part flags and portraits of Nawaz Sharif and Shahbaz Sharif, the participants chanted slogans for the supremacy of Constitution.
Addressing the participants, Malik Kamran condemned unconstitutional demands of the PTI, adding that such demands would only invite a ‘third force’.
He said that in democracy the conflicting issues were only resolved through dialogues.
He rejects the proposal of a mid-term election and the resignation of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on the demand of only a few thousand music lovers.
MUZAFFARGARH: The PML-N workers stage a rally in favour of the ruling party and chanted slogans against PTI and PAT leaders here on Wednesday.
The rally, headed by PML-N MPA Hammad Nawaz, was brought out from Khanpur Bagga Sher which ended at the River Chenab bridge blocking the road for about two hours.
Addressing the participants, PML-N leaders said the PTI and PAT leaders were staging mini-theatres in Islamabad with the help of some media people.
