Model Town vandalism: ATC orders Gullu Butt's appearance on Sept 5

LAHORE: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Lahore on Saturday ordered police to keep the main accused in the Model Town vandalism incident Gullu Butt in detention until September 6, DawnNews reported.

ATC judge III Judge Haroon Latif heard the case today.

During the hearing, police requested the court that Butt should be kept in detention under 16 MPO as he was a highly dangerous individual who spread fear and panic amongst people.

However, the court ordered that Butt should be presented before it on September 5 and subsequently adjourned the hearing to the said date.

Butt, also known as Sher-i-Lahore, came into the limelight after he was caught on cameras brazenly damaging several vehicles in the presence of police, during the clash between Pakistan Awami Tehreek workers and police in Lahore's Model Town on June 17.
