Pakistani sailor alleged to have fallen off ship in Australia found
A Pakistani sailor, who allegedly disappeared overboard during a multinational navy exercise in Darwin, has been found, said a report published on The Guardian.
Earlier on September 7, the Royal Australian Navy had launched a search for the sailor, who allegedly went missing from the Pakistan navy ship PNS Nasr, at about 4.30 am.
It was initially believed that he fell off the ship while it was anchored in Darwin Harbour as part of the biennial Exercise Kakadu.
Police said it was apparent that the man did not want to be discovered after they found his backpack in the water near the Cox peninsula and he was spotted by a worker there near Talc Head
Police confirmed on Tuesday that the man was found hiding in a shed late on Monday night, adding that he seemed to be in good shape.
The sailor was later handed over to immigration authorities.
