PMDC waives off fee for institutions

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has waived off inspection fee of medical and dental institutions.

Colleges had to pay an annual inspection fee of Rs100,000 per subject.

This was a huge amount for colleges that offer around 90 subjects. Therefore it has been decided that Rs350,000 will be charged as an overall inspection fee, says a press release.

The decision was taken in a meeting of the executive committee of PMDC presided over by the council’s president, Dr Masood Hameed Khan.

Dr Khan said an FCPS qualification attained by a doctor without clearing examination would not be registered by PMDC.Therefore no institution will consider a doctor for teaching appointment who has attained FCPS degree through political influence, he added.
