KARACHI: Number of institutions awarding degrees rises to 103

KARACHI, Aug 31: The number of chartered varsities and degree awarding institutes, both in public and private sectors, besides foreign varsities and institutes, allowed to run collaborative degree programmes in the country has swelled to 103.

According to the statistics issued by the Higher Education Commission (HEC), the number of public sector degree awarding institutions is 54 throughout the country, including 45 varsities and 9 institutes.

Whereas, the number of private sector institutions is 44, which include 29 varsities and 15 degree awarding institutes.

In addition to that, some five foreign universities or institutions have also been allowed to run collaborative degree programmes in the country.
