PTI chief leveling baseless allegations: Pervaiz Rashid

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Pervaiz Rashid on Tuesday said that PTI Chief Imran Khan is leveling baseless allegations on a daily basis but is unable to prove his claims in courts.

Addressing a news conference in Islamabad, Rashid said the latest allegation made by the PTI chief was that 17 bodies of people killed during clashes with police on Constitution Avenue have been concealed in PIMS.

The minister said Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) Chief Tahirul Qadri registered an FIR yesterday in which only three deaths were mentioned.

Rashid questioned who the other fourteen were and where were their relatives.

The information minister said Imran also alleged that the 2013 elections were stolen and that ballot papers were printed from Urdu Bazar.

He said the printer against whom allegations have been made has gone to the court and that the PTI chief has an opportunity to prove his allegations.

Rashid also regretted that on the one hand Imran disassociated himself from those who attacked the Parliament House and PTV Headquarters, yet at the same time he himself leads people to have them released from police custody.

Replying to a question, the information minister said the government handled a political issue politically and avoided the use of administrative tactics to expose Imran Khan before the people of Pakistan.
