Potable water of two UCs declared unfit

GUJRAT: The potable water in two union councils of the flood-hit areas has been declared unfit for the human consumption after the district government had sent water samples of at least 77 places of flood-affected areas to laboratories.

The district government has started distributing the gallons carrying at least 10 liters of mineral water to each house along with tablets for the chlorination of water in the affected UCs.

The official laboratories have declared the water samples of Hariyewala and Gulab Shah Dara union councils unfit for the human consumption.

DCO Liaquat Ali Chatha revealed this in a meeting held here on Wednesday to review the rehabilitation and relief operation in flood-affected areas.

He said that Rs50,000 compensation per animal would be given immediately after the work on the estimation of loss of the livestock was completed.
