Fahim slams Altaf for seeking to divide Sindh on administrative grounds
HYDERABAD: PPP Parliamentarians president Makhdoom Amin Fahim has rejected statement of MQM leader Altaf Hussain about creation of more administrative units in Sindh.
The PPP would not allow a division of Sindh nor would it back such a proposal, he declared.
Briefly speaking to reporters in Matiari while visiting Bhanot river dyke on Saturday, he said the PPP would not back any proposal that might harm democratic process and create a chaos in the country.
Sindh Minister for Revenue Makhdoom Jamiluuzaman, Matiari Deputy Commissioner Fayyaz Hussain Abbasi, SSP Amjad Ali Shaikh and officials of irrigation department were present.
He said he would not comment on Bilawal Bhutto Zadari’s ‘marsun, marsun, Sindh na desun’ slogan and Altaf Hussain’s rejoinder to it because they were heads of their own parties.
He said the PPP could not even think of dividing Sindh and added that it would not support any such idea. He observed that the PPP had always provided jobs to people in its government because it was enshrined in the manifesto of the party and it would continue to adhere to its manifesto.
He said a Supreme Court-led judicial commission had been established for a probe into rigging in May 2013 general elections in the country. The investigation would reveal everything to everyone, he added.
He said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was committing mistakes which were harming him; he would have to change his past policies.
He said that under directives of the apex court, encroachments in the kutcha areas were being removed and in this regard directives had been issued to all the district administrations across Sindh.
The DC of Matiari briefed him about the flood situation. District Health Officer Hassan Murad Shah also gave a briefing to Mr Fahim regarding an anti-polio campaign.
