Woman among at least 11 injured in Quetta blast

QUETTA: At least 11 people including a woman were injured when a powerful explosion took place in Jinnah Town neighbourhood of the Balochistan capital late on Saturday night.

The blast took place in Panj Fitti area of Jinnah Town through a time device planted in a bicycle. The explosion was so powerful it was heard from far distances and in the suburbs of Quetta city and broke glasses of the nearby buildings.

CCPO Quetta Razzaq Cheema told media representatives that the unknown assailants hid the IED bomb in a bicycle. He said that the security has been increased in the area to avoid anymore untoward incidents.

The inured have been shifted to Civil Hospital Quetta, where an emergency is imposed.
