ATC moved for forgery case against IO

KARACHI: The defence lawyer moved on Thursday an anti-terrorism court seeking a forgery case against the investigating officer in the DHA shootout case.

Salman Abro, son of a senior superintendent of police, and five police guards of his father have been booked for killing his 18-year-old classmate Suleman Lashari and wounding his private guard after breaking into the victim’s home in Defence Housing Authority in May 8. The main suspect also sustained wounds and one of his five guards was killed in an exchange of fire.

The defence lawyer moved a direct complaint under Section 200 of the criminal procedure code and contended that IO Mohammad Mobin had allegedly forged documents against his clients during the investigation of the case and asked the court to book him for an offence of forgery.

The counsel for the complainant and public prosecutor sought arguments and submission of original documents. The father of the slain student once again complained that despite repeated court orders he and his family were without security.

Judge Saleem Raza Baloch of the ATC-III adjourned the hearing till Oct 20 and asked a senior superintendent of police to provide proper security to the complainant.
