Zardari-JI meeting
THE recent visit to the Jamaat-i-Islami’s headquarters by Asif Ali Zardari was like a confluence of two rivers after a long journey. The PPP is a liberal party associated with the left-wing, while the Jamaat-i-Islami has always remained a right-wing party.
This confluence could be another apologetic strategy which is being introduced by Mr Zardari following the reconciliation strategy.
In the past, the Jamaat never had a soft corner for the PPP. This strategy will not be accepted by PPP supporters and its allied groups.
Mr Zardari is raising the slogan of Seraiki province to seek sympathies of the Seraikis. This act is creating problems for other provinces.
Imran Khan has raised his voice against corruption and for the welfare of farmers, as well as for introducing a uniform education system. Mr Khan has not left any slogan for other parties.
He has been displaying his strength and popularity through public gatherings in Karachi, Lahore and Mianwali. He is now the centre of attraction.
