Musharraf fails to appear in Bugti murder case
QUETTA: Former president retired Gen Pervez Musharraf failed to appear on Monday before an anti-terrorism court hearing a case relating to the murder of veteran Baloch nationalist leader Nawab Akbar Bugti.
When Judge Nazir Ahmed Lango asked the reason for Gen Musharraf’s non-appearance, the latter’s counsel submitted a medical certificate and said that a seven-member medical board examining the former military ruler had advised him four weeks’ bed rest.
The judge adjourned the hearing to November 10.
Nawabzada Jamil, son of Akbar Bugti, has nominated Gen Musharraf, former prime minister Shaukat Aziz, former Balochistan governor Owais Ahmed Ghani, now deceased chief minister Jam Mohammad Yousuf, then interior minister Aftab Khan Sherpao, former home minister Shoaib Nausherwani and ex-DCO Abdul Samad Lasi as accused in an FIR lodged with the Dera Bugti police station.
