Four children injured by Indian shelling

MUZAFFARABAD: Four children were injured in Azad Kashmir by Indian shelling from across the Line of Control (LoC) on Tuesday evening.

According to deputy commissioner of Kotli Chaudhry Shaukat Ali, Dabsi Narr village in Nakyal sector was hit by Indian firing at about 7pm. One mortar shell landed on a house, injuring Faisal Munir, 15, Yasir Munir, 10, Mehwish Javaid, 9, and Sameer Javaid, 3.

He said the injured were given first aid in the village and later taken to a comparatively safe place.

Earlier in the day, Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs Chaudhry Barjees Tahir visited Tatta Pani and distributed compensation cheques among some injured persons and the mother of a girl who was killed by Indian shelling.

The minister condemned the unprovoked shelling by Indian forces on civil population. He asked the UN and international community to take notice of the situation.
