ABBOTTABAD: OPD resumes functioning at AMC

ABBOTTABAD, Sept 4: After the failure of the Institution-Based Practice (IBP), the outpatient department (OPD) has resumed functioning at the Ayub Medical Complex here.

Only medical and surgical specialists attended the OPD for two hours on the very first day.

According to spokesman for the Ayub Medical Complex (AMC), the OPD began functioning in compliance with the directive of the NWFP government to provide relief to patients, as earlier under the IBP patients had to pay a much higher amount for treatment.

“Now they are required to pay only Rs5,” he said.

He said that all other lab tests which were carried out in the morning would be conducted as per routine and no extra fee would be charged.

Though the response on the first day was very poor, it is beleived that in the next few days, all doctors would be looking after patients as per routine.
