Appointment of teachers sought at Gujar Khan school
GUJAR KHAN: Residents of a village here called upon Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif to take notice of the unavailability of teachers at the government model primary school.
Qazi Ghulam Rasool, Mohammad Imran, Sahibzada Mohammad Naseer and several other residents of Mohri Barsaal village told reporters here that there were only two teachers for 124 students in the school.
They said a few months ago, the number of students at the school was 270, but due to unavailability of teachers many parents have now stopped sending their children to the school.
They regretted that the Punjab government had been making tall claims about providing facilities at the doorsteps of the people but the children in villages were being forced to travel long distances to seek education.
They called upon the government to take notice of the situation and ensure availability of teachers in the school.
