Younis is Pakistan’s top century maker
DUBAI: Younis Khan stole the limelight on the fourth day of the first Test against Australia on Saturday by scoring his second century of the match and the 26th of his illustrious career.
In the process he surpassed former captain Inzamam-ul-Haq as the highest century maker for his country.
The resolute Younis hit an unbeaten 103, following up on his 106 in the first innings. He became the seventh Pakistani to score a century in both innings of a Test match.
The knock by Younis, together with a scintillating innings by Ahmed Shahzad (131), put Pakistan in a commanding position at stumps. Australia, needing 438 for victory, were reeling at 59 for four.
