Three found dead; bomb defused in Peshawar

PESHAWAR: Three people a woman among them were found dead, as police foiled a sabotage attempt by defusing a bomb in the provincial capital here on Sunday.

A young man identified as Imdadullah and his wife, Shagufta were found dead inside their house in Faqirabad locality. A police official said that the bodies were shifted to local mortuary for autopsy.

He said that there was no apparent sign of violence on the bodies, but added that the victims were bleeding from their noses which indicated that might have been poisoned to death. However, the official said that the actual story would come out after postmortem. He added that the investigators were also searching for relatives of the victims.

The official said that a case against unidentified persons had been registered at the Faqirabad police station.

Meanwhile, body a man was recovered from Shaikh Wala water canal in limits of Paharipura police station. The victim was identified as Ayam of Regi town. Police said the body had bullet marks, adding he was thrown in the canal after being killed somewhere else. The police said they were informed about the body by an informer of Dauranpur village.

An investigator said that though the victim belonged to Regi town his family was presently living in Nishtarabad locality of Peshawar city.

Meanwhile, bomb disposal unit personnel defused an improvised explosive device, which had been planted along a road at Khatako Pul area.
