Shekhar Kapur is back

After a hiatus of quite a few years, Indian director Shekhar Kapur is back where he belongs: directing movies. The auteur is known for his Oscar-nominated film Elizabeth and Bandit Queen; the latter catapulted him to international fame. The film that he’s now making is tentatively called Tiger’s Curse. Based on a novel by Colleen Houck, it tells the story of a teenage girl who befriends a tiger in a circus. The tiger turns out to be a prince.

Hmm … what a new premise! No wonder they’ve hired an Indian director for such a tale.
