Killers of Hazara girl identified, to be arrested soon: Marvi

QUETTA: The chairperson of the National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Information and Broadcasting, Marvi Memon, has said that people involved in the murder of a six-year-old Hazara girl in Quetta have been identified and they will be brought to justice soon.

Addressing a press conference after visiting the victim’s family on Monday, Ms Memon said the prime minister had taken serious notice of the incident and issued directives for the arrest of the culprits.

Ms Memon was accompanied by PML-N MPA Samina Khan, Hazara Qaumi Jirga chief Abdul Qayyum Changezi and senior police officers.

She said Inspector General of Balochistan Police Mohammad Amlish Khan and CCPO Quetta Abdul Razzak Cheema had informed her during a briefing that police had almost completed the investigation into the case and the culprits would be arrested soon.

The child’s tortured body was found in a garbage heap a few days ago.

Ms Memon said the prime minister had issued directives to authorities concerned to resolve problems being faced by the members of the Hazara community.

She said the federal and Balochistan governments would work jointly to improve security situation in the province. The prime minister had already issued directives for taking stern action against banned militant organisations, she added.

Ms Memon paid tribute to the country’s armed forces and said they were doing a great job for elimination of terrorism from the country.

She criticised what she called the agitation politics of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf and Pakistan Awami Tehreek and said their sit-ins in Islamabad had harmed the economy.

She accused Imran Khan of trying to use shortcuts to become prime minister, adding that the PTI chief had committed contempt of court by levelling allegations against the judiciary.

Ms Memon said the prime minister’s recent visits to China and Germany would have very positive impact on the national economy.
