PAT cancels rally in Sargodha
SARGODHA: The Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) has cancelled its public rally scheduled for December 5 in Sports Stadium because of the illness of PAT chief Dr Tahirul Qadri, according to PAT media coordinator Mian Majid Hayat.
CRACKDOWN: Police launched a crackdown on Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) workers and reportedly arrested more than 100 workers in the city on Thursday.
Dawn learnt the police planned to arrest more than 1,000 workers who may mobilise the people for PTI’s Nov 30 show in Islamabad.
The government is likely to block the four interchanges of motorway to stop PTI workers from going to Islamabad.
DOCTORS: The Punjab government has collected data on the Sargodha District Headquarters Hospital doctors who raised slogan ‘Go Nawaz go’ on the premises on Wednesday.
Sources said they were likely to be transferred to other district within two days.
The slogan was raised during a strike by the Young Doctors Association (YDA) for the acceptance of their demands. They called off their strike in outpatient departments on the interference of District Coordination Officer Saqib Manan.
Doctors said in case of transfer of doctors, both the YDA and the Pakistan Medical Association would jointly launch a move against the Punjab government.
