Ward boys from Benazir hospital attack police post

RAWALPINDI:  After a quarrel with the attendants of an injured police official, ward boys of Benazir Bhutto Hospital on Friday staged a protest and damaged a police post.

The protest was so intense that the hospital administration had to call the police to control the situation.

It all started when the brother of the injured police official, Yasir Fareed, tried to enter the ward along with two other persons after the visiting hours.

First the rival parties exchanged hot words, which was followed by a melee.

Later, the ward boys gathered outside the police post established in the hospital and started pelting it with stones.

As a result, the window glasses of the police post were smashed and its staff had to run for the safety.

Later, nearly 25 ward boys gathered outside the police post and staged a protest.

Yasir Fareed, the injured police constable, was shot and injured in a targeted attack when he was chasing the fleeing murderers of policeman outside Imambargah Rizvia Hall Sadiqabad on November 10.

When the Waris Khan police SHO Malik Allah Yar was contacted, he said police had by been sent to Benazir Bhutto Hospital.
