Pakistan down England in kabaddi World Cup
KARACHI: Pakistan men’s kabaddi team recorded an impressive 58-31 victory against England to strengthen their chances to qualify for semi-finals of the Kabaddi World Cup in Chohla Sahib, Tarn Taran, India on Thursday.
According to the information made available here, Pakistan dominated the match right from the beginning. At the interval, Pakistan were leading 31-11.
Raiders Mohammad Khan, Rehman Ishtiaq and stoppers Musharraf Javed Janjua, Ramzan Jani and Ali Shan produced impressive performance for Pakistan.
Sajjad Gujjar and Ramzan Jani grabbed four points each in the overwhelming victory. Stopper Musharraf Janjua also fared well with three points. Mohsin Wahla, Rana Ali Shan and Rehman also played their part in the victory.
In their next encounter, Pakistan face Sweden in Hoshiarpur on Dec 14.
Meanwhile, New Zealand halted Pakistan’s winning streak in the women’s Kabaddi World Cup.
The New Zealand women handed Pakistan, who have already made the semi-finals, a 38-30 defeat, their first in the mega event.
