Seven injured in Sibi bomb blast
QUETTA: Seven people were injured in a motorcycle bomb blast outside a restaurant here on Nishtar Road on Thursday.
“Seven people present in the restaurant and nearby shops suffered injuries when the bomb went off,” police said.
According to the bomb disposal squad, it was an improvised explosive device detonated by remote control.
Rescue teams took the injured to hospital where doctors said that condition of some of them was critical.
A police official said that some shops and a few vehicles parked near the bomb-rigged motorcycle were damaged.
Ten suspected were picked up by personnel of law-enforcement agencies in a search operation launched after the incident.
Police sources told Dawn that the office of a political party near the restaurant might be the target of the bomb attack.
However, no-one belonging to the party was injured.
Police lodged a case and started investigation.
