No more mercy for terrorists, says president

QUETTA: President of Pakistan, Mamnoon Hussain has said that the door of forgiveness for terrorists is shut and that the perpetrators of Peshawar carnage would be brought to justice.

Addressing provincial ministers and legislators from treasury and opposition benches at the Governor House in Quetta on Wednesday night, the president urged upon the masses to extend their full cooperation to the armed forces and the government in eradication of scourge of terrorism.

“Peshawar carnage was worst kind of barbarism,” the president said. He added that maintaining peace was the first and foremost priority of the government and for this purpose all out efforts were being made to ensure durable peace in the country.

Mamnoon Hussain stated that targeting innocent children and women was highly condemnable and terrorists surpassed all records in terms of barbarism. “No terrorist would be spared,” the president warned.

Earlier, President Hussain arrived in Quetta on a three day visit to review development projects, law and order situation and to participate in educational programs in the city.

The president spoke at length about development projects in general and Gwadar Deep Sea Port in particular in the province. He said a functional port would open new vistas of development and prosperity in the region.

He said a road from Gwadar to Kashghar would be completed and this would ensure communication link between China and Pakistan and would boost economic activities.

Mamnoon Hussain urged upon legislators to play their due role in eradication of curse of corruption. He said every year billions of rupees were being swallowed by corrupt elements undermining the development and prosperity of the country.
