Abbottabad schools to remain closed till Jan 15
ABBOTTABAD: All private educational institutions in the district will remain closed till January 15, 2015 due to security reasons.
Presiding over a meeting of the heads of private schools and colleges at his office here on Thursday, Deputy Commissioner Khalid Mehmood said that the management of all private educational institutions should hire trained security guards and chalk out a detailed security plan for the safety of the students and teachers.
He said that all private educational institutions in the district would remain closed till January 15. He also directed the officials of educational board to coordinate with the management of schools and colleges regarding holding the annual examinations so that the students would not suffer owing to closure of schools.
The deputy commissioner showed displeasure over the poor cleanliness condition in the schools and colleges, especially in the hostels and in canteens. He directed the heads of educational institutions to improve the cleanliness condition in their respective institution within a weak.
Mr Mehmood said that special teams would pay surprise visits to the canteens of educational institutions to check the rates and take action against those, who overcharged the students.
VISIT: On the special directives of Governor Sardar Mahtab Ahmed Khan, MPA Sardar Mohammad Fareed visited Pattan Kalan and Kokmang, the hometowns of the two students, who were killed in the attack on Army Pubic School in Peshawar.
The MPA also named two roads in the areas after the killed students.
Mr Fareed along with Col Aslam Khattak visited the house of Azhar Naseer in Battangi village and offered condolence to the bereaved family. The road from Katterha to Battangi was also named after Azhar Naseer.
Later he visited the house of Usman Sadiq and named the road from Khamkar to Dooga after him.
Talking to the bereaved families, the MPA said that sacrifices of the innocent students united the entire nation for elimination of terrorists at every cost.
