Ambulance driver killed

KARACHI: An ambulance driver was shot dead in Orangi Town on Thursday, the police said.

They added that 45-year-old Aftab Saghir was busy cleaning an ambulance in Aligarh Colony when armed motorcyclists attacked him.

Although the victim was associated with the Jafria Disaster Cell ambulance service, he was Sunni, said Orangi Town SHO Tanveer Murad.

The deceased had also been an in-charge of the Chhipa welfare association in the same area in the past.

He had recently shifted to Qasba Colony from this area.

MQM worker killed

A Muttahida Qaumi Movement worker was shot dead in a targeted attack in Orangi Town on Thursday evening, the Pakistan Bazaar police said.

They added that Nadeem Afzal, aka Kala, 30, was sitting at Rehmat Chowk when a lone gunman appear­ed and shot him dead after identification, said Karachi-West SSP Azfar Mahesar. The body was taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal formalities.
