Security measures reviewed
LAHORE: Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif said after a consensus over National Action Plan, immediate decisions were taken and positive results were being witnessed due to their implementation.
He said this while presiding over a meeting of Apex Committee here on Wednesday that was also attended by Lahore Corps Commander Lt-Gen Naveed Zaman, Director-General Rangers (Punjab) Maj-Gen Khan Tahir Javed Khan, 10th Div General Officer Commanding Maj-Gen Amir Abbasi, home minister retired Col Shuja Khanzada, chief secretary, inspector-general of police, home secretary and other senior officers.
The meeting unanimously decided to take immediate measures for the effective implementation of the National Action Plan (NAP) against terrorism.
The meeting also reviewed security arrangements in the province and it was decided to take all out steps for the protection of life and property of citizens. Proposals to make security arrangements foolproof were also discussed on the occasion.
The chief minster said all segments of society would have to play an active role in the war against terrorism to defeat terrorists and their facilitators.
