ABBOTTABAD: Cardiac unit begins functioning
ABBOTTABAD, Sept 17: A cardiac surgery unit with 21 beds began functioning here on Wednesday at Ayub Medical Complex Hospital.
The opening ceremony was performed by hospital chief executive Pervez Akhter Butt.
Briefing journalists on the occasion, Surgeon Dr Zaiur Rehman said that now all sorts of heart operations except transplants could be performed at the hospital where two special operation theatres equipped with the latest machinery had been set up.
The government had provided Rs8.6 million for the establishment of special investigation facilities like angiography, ECG, ETT, etc., while the AMC provided Rs2 million for the improvement of the CCU and ICU.
