Shia rebels ‘take over’ Yemen
AFTER failure of two weeks of negotiations, Yemen’s Huthi rebels announced on Friday night that they had taken over control of the country and set up a group to replace the parliament.
Fighters of the Shia Huthi Movement are seen in the picture deployed at the presidential palace in Sanaa. The development was seen as a major setback in the region for the United States and its allies, including Saudi Arabia and Bahrain.
