Dasti booked for ‘involvement in honour killing’

MUZAFFARGARH: A case has been registered against MNA Jamshed Dasti under Section 109 (abetment) and his guard Mushtaq Sial after the body of a man who had been missing for six months, was found in the house of Sial.

Police on Wednesday dug out the body of Saifuddin who went missing in December 2014.

Police said Saifuddin of Qaimwala was killed on Dec 7, 2014. In October 2014, Saif and ‘S’ contracted marriage after elopement and went to Hasanabdal. Later some relatives brought the couple back for reconciliation with Sajid, the girl’s father.

According to the FIR lodged in December 2014, Sajid and his relatives Kazim and Mushtaq called Saifuddin to his house where they allegedly killed him and buried him in the house of Mushtaq Sial.

Fazaluddin, brother of Saifuddin, contacted the city police and also met DPO Rai Zameeul Haq who formed a special team led by city DSP Ihsanullah Shad and SHO Hasan Tahir.

The team arrested Sajid who, during interrogation, confessed that Saifuddin was killed by him and his accomplices.

On Wednesday, a police team visited Bhema Sial near thermal power station and dug out the body from the room where Mushtaq used to keep cattle. The body was sent to DHQ Hospital for postmortem.

Talking to the media, DPO Rai Zameer said Fazal alleged that his brother was killed by Mushtaq Sial with the ‘involvement’ of MNA Jamshed Dasti.

Earlier the case 82/15 was registered under Section 364. Later Section 302 was added to the FIR.

Mushtaq Sial is said to be the guard and driver of Jamshed Dasti and is living with him.

Dasti said he had no connection with Mushtaq. But arrested suspects Sajid and Kazim alleged that Mushtaq was the driver and guard of Dasti.

The DPO said he asked his team to investigate the involvement of Dasti.
