Strike in Zhob over murder of kidnapped people

QUETTA: Business community in Zhob observed a strike on Wednesday in protest against the killing of polio workers and Levies personnel.

Protesters heeding a call of the All Parties’ Action Committee called for immediate arrest of culprits and exemplary punishment to them.

Bodies of the two health workers and as many security men, who went missing a week ago, were found on Tuesday.

With shops closed and traffic non-existent, a pall of gloom descended on the small town. However, people took out processions and vowed that they would under no circumstances let terrorists make them hostage.

The terrorists, they said, first destroyed peace in Fata by misguiding people and were now bent upon disturbing Zhob’s atmosphere by abducting and killing people.

Addressing the rally, leaders urged the government and security forces to protect people by taking timely and strict action against terrorists.
