PTI to hold 'election rigging' rally in Lahore
LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) will soon hold a protest rally in Lahore against rigging in the 2013 general election, DawnNews reported on Monday.
According to details, the party has already decided to stage a protest rally as soon as the tribunal’s decision on NA-122— where PTI Chairman Imran Khan lost to Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s Ayaz Sadiq — is made public.
The party has decided that if the government does not constitute a judicial commission to probe election rigging, it will initiate another protest movement from Lahore, similar to the sit-in staged outside Parliament House in Islamabad's Red Zone last year.
PTI spokesperson Shireen Mazari also confirmed that the party had decided to hold a protest rally in Lahore.
“If the government does not form a judicial commission to investigate rigging, we may announce a protest movement during the Lahore rally,” she said.
PTI’s district bodies have been instructed to revitalize contacts with the public, to ensure a successful rally in the coming days.
