PHC develops minimum service delivery standards

LAHORE: The Punjab Healthcare Commission (PHC) has developed Minimum Service Delivery Standards (MSDS) for polyclinics and clinics of family physicians.

The PHC had organised a consultative workshop to present these standards to stakeholders which included key office bearers of the Pakistan Academy of Family Physicians and other specialist doctors.

According to the PHC spokesperson, the participants have endorsed most of these standards and related indicators, and even made valuable suggestions for improving the draft prepared by PHC experts.

After incorporation of these suggestions, the MSDS will be presented to the PHC’s Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) and Board of Commissioners.

The implementation of MSDS would ensure the delivery of high-quality healthcare services, leading to greater patient satisfaction, said the spokesperson.
